ISLAMABAD: Passengers face problems as New Islamabad International Airport’s conveyor belt remained nonfunctional for the second day on Friday.
The airport was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, while flight operations were commenced on Thursday.
However, the baggage carousel ceased to work after facing technical difficulties and has not been repaired yet.
Apart from facing delays in getting their luggage, the passengers were also forced to sit on the floor, while there was also a shortage of porters and a poor internet connection.
British Member of Parliament Naz Shah shared her ordeal on Twitter saying that it took her more than three hours to get her luggage and that the passengers were dissatified.
Over three hours just to get our luggage and finally leave #ISB new airport, others had been waiting for more than 5 hours after long haul flights, staff saying airport not equipped and opened prematurely and passengers not happy #Embarrassing
